Our Responsibility Journey
At Jon Monsir we are committed to putting our principles into practice by sourcing uniforms more responsibly and weaving a more sustainable future - for you and the planet.
Sustainable packaging (APCO-aligned)
We’re cutting single-use plastics across our uniform supply chain in line with APCO (Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation) guidelines.
Plastic → paper shift: Replacing polybags, swing tags and ticketing with recyclable paper alternatives that meet APCO standards.
Bulk-packing: Consolidating garments to reduce (or remove) individual polybags where product protection allows.
Right-sized cartons: Minimising void fill and preferring recycled, recyclable materials.
Impact: In a single-supplier pilot across Australia and New Zealand we’ve eliminated 100+ tonnes of packaging to date
Ethical sourcing: people first
For Jon Monsir and our partners, sustainability goes beyond materials — it starts with people. We work only with suppliers who prioritise worker wellbeing, safety and fair treatment, and who agree to ongoing due-diligence checks.
Our standard: Suppliers align to the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) Base Code, which covers:
Safe working conditions and a healthy workplace
Fair wages and legal working hours
Freedom of association and respect for workers’ rights
No forced, bonded or child labour
These safeguards protect both the people who make our products and the integrity of our supply chain.
Ethical sourcing — FAQs
Q: What is the ETI Base Code?
A: The ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) Base Code is a globally recognised set of labour standards that requires safe conditions, fair pay, reasonable hours and respect for workers’ rights.
Q: How does Jon Monsir verify supplier compliance?
A: Through pre-qualification, documented policies, and periodic audits or third-party certifications where applicable, with corrective action plans for any non-conformances.
Q: Does this apply to subcontractors and facilities used for branding (e.g., embroidery)?
A: Yes. Our ethical requirements extend to subcontracted facilities, including local branding partners, with the same expectations for safe, fair and legal work.
